Job description

The Opportunity
At Potomac, we're not for everyone-and that's by design. We attract people who think critically, communicate clearly, and execute with urgency. People who care deeply about their work and don't need handholding to make things happen.
We're a boutique tactical asset manager with a differentiated product that serves the independent broker-dealer and RIA channel
Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, we combine institutional-grade investment expertise with a quantitative process that is Built to Conquer Risk®.
Summary
The Director of Marketing Production is the operational engine of the marketing organization, responsible for translating strategic vision and creative direction into consistent, high-quality execution across channels. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role owns the day-to-day management, production rhythm, and delivery of all marketing output.
This leader brings structure to creativity, managing teams, workflows, and priorities to ensure work is delivered on time, on brand, and to a high standard. The role serves as the final operational gatekeeper, refining outputs and ensuring alignment before work is released.
Key Responsibilities
Execution & Production Leadership
  • Own end-to-end marketing execution across video, print, web, and social
  • Establish and maintain production cadence, workflows, and delivery timelines
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, brand guidelines, and strategic intent
  • Act as final reviewer and operational gatekeeper before output goes live

Team Leadership & Management
  • Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and elevate team performance
  • Remove blockers and create an environment where creative talent can do their best work
  • Drive accountability and consistency across all team members

Operational Systems & Process
  • Build and optimize scalable systems for workflow, approvals, and project visibility
  • Implement sprint planning, resource allocation, and prioritization frameworks
  • Create repeatable processes that improve speed, quality, and efficiency

Strategic Translation & Coordination
  • Translate high-level CMO vision into clear execution plans and deliverables
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure seamless campaign rollout
  • Maintain momentum across multiple concurrent initiatives

Performance & Optimization
  • Track production output, delivery timelines, and team performance
  • Identify inefficiencies and continuously refine processes
  • Align execution with performance goals and marketing outcomes
Qualifications
Required
  • 5-10+ years in marketing operations, production, or creative operations roles
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional marketing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to scale production systems in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong operational discipline with a track record of delivering work on time and at quality
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership or CMO-level stakeholders
  • Deep familiarity with project management and workflow tools (e.g., Teamwork.com)

Preferred
  • Experience in financial services, asset management, wealth management, or a related industry
  • Familiarity with advisor-focused marketing and distribution models
  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership programs
  • Understanding of marketing automation, CRM systems, and digital marketing channels

Potomac is not your typical asset manager. We cut through the industry BS with brutal transparency and an obsession with execution. If you're looking for a slow pace and low volume, this isn't for you.
If you want to drive, build, and scale, this is your shot.
