Job description

IT Support Specialist - NYC, NY 10001

  • August - start date - ongoing assignment

  • Provide dedicated support for design and engineering environments, with a strong emphasis on AutoCAD, Mastercam, and other CAD/CAM and engineering applications used by manufacturing and engineering teams.



Candidates under consideration must have demonstrated experience supporting AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, and similar CAD applications.

Key criteria for this position include:

  • Deep expertise in the Rhino environment, including how it interacts with IT security protocols, server infrastructure, autosave functionality, file versioning, and software release management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and proactively manage CAD-related issues, as Rhino-related challenges have been a primary source of IT support requirements for the client’s global teams.
  • Strong understanding of the CAD ecosystem within Tiffany, enabling the individual to serve as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners involved in 3D design and upstream development.
  • Experience driving cross-functional collaboration and communication, helping coordinate initiatives across design, engineering, and IT teams.
  • Capability to manage and support a complex software portfolio, while evaluating and facilitating the adoption of new technologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and emerging 3D/CAD solutions, with the ability to engage with broader initiatives and contribute insights relevant to the Group's strategic direction.
  • Proactive partnership and strategic thinking, ensuring teams remain informed, aligned, and engaged with ongoing 3D and digital innovation efforts across the organization.



Position Overview

The IT Support Specialist's primary responsibility is to provide proximity IT support for the manufacturing infrastructure and operations, including computer hardware, software, applications, network printers, scanners, and other manufacturing-related technologies. The position is responsible for providing service delivery, including incident, problem, and change management, to support Information Technology initiatives within the location.


Key Accountabilities

Provide Local Technical Support

  • Provide local technical support and assistance for all computer hardware (laptops, printers, RFID antennas, telephones, scanners, etc.).
  • Act as the onsite single point of contact for internal client technical issues, working with internal and external IT teams, including external vendors.
  • Provide dedicated support for design and engineering environments, with a strong emphasis on AutoCAD, Mastercam, and other CAD/CAM and engineering applications used by manufacturing and engineering teams.


Install & Configure Systems

  • Install and configure workstations, software, and systems as designated by the Information Technology division.
  • Follow SOPs and knowledge documentation to ensure consistent solution delivery.
  • Assist internal and external IT teams with all project and support deliverables pertinent to the location.


IT Service Management

  • Utilize ServiceNow to track, update, and resolve incidents and requests for local operations.
  • Ensure adherence to documented processes and policies.
  • Communicate escalations to management and external IT teams.


Documentation & Training

  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to operational staff.
  • Create documentation for site-specific processes, including Knowledge Articles and SOPs.


System Monitoring & Inventory

  • Monitor the health and maintenance of local IT systems, including servers, networks, telephony, and other critical systems.
  • Track and maintain IT inventory specific to the location.


Job Requirements

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of end-user hardware and peripherals, including:
    • Laptops and desktops
    • Printers, scanners, and networked devices
    • RFID equipment, telephony, and other manufacturing-related technologies
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting:
    • Workstations and standard enterprise software
    • Network-connected devices and peripherals
  • Working knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices and tools (e.g., ServiceNow), including:
    • Incident, request, problem, and change management
    • Accurate ticket documentation and status updates
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Networking fundamentals and connectivity troubleshooting
    • Server, network, and telephony system health monitoring from a site-support perspective
  • Experience with IT asset and inventory management, including tracking and maintaining site-specific equipment.


Documentation, Training & Communication

  • Ability to follow and apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge documentation.
  • Experience creating and maintaining:
    • Knowledge Articles
    • Site-specific SOPs
    • User-facing technical documentation and guides
  • Ability to provide effective training and knowledge transfer to manufacturing and operational staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

  • Ability to appropriately escalate complex or high-impact issues and communicate clearly with IT leadership and support partners.
