Materials Specialist -- Day Shift -- $20-$25 an hour

The Materials Specialist plays a key role in supporting shop operations by safely unloading, organizing, and preparing materials for production. This position focuses on accurate inventory control, efficient material handling, and adherence to safety procedures while assisting with a variety of shop projects and general tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Unload materials as they arrive and safely move them into the appropriate storage areas.
  • Check in, label, and organize incoming materials to ensure proper identification and traceability.
  • Operate saws and other shop equipment to cut materials according to production and shop needs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all materials are clean, organized, and easily accessible.
  • Assist with other shop projects, tasks, and general duties as needed to support overall operations.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Handle materials using appropriate material handling equipment and methods to prevent damage and ensure safety.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, including preparing, packaging, and staging materials and products.
  • Use RF scanners or other inventory control tools to track materials and update inventory systems.
  • Build and organize pallets for storage or shipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a warehouse role.
  • Experience with inventory control and inventory management practices.
  • Ability to perform shipping and receiving tasks, including checking in and staging materials.
  • Material handling experience, including moving, storing, and organizing materials safely.

Pay and Benefits
