Job description

Ravenswood Solutions is looking for a proactive Project Manager to continue our tradition of delivering industry-leading innovations to the field and marketplace in a rapid, responsive manner. Qualified candidates possess strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills, background in relevant technical fields, passion for leadership/mentorship of engineers, and a commitment to meeting both client and corporate specification, budget, and schedule requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Prefer candidates with a mix of small and large business experience.
The Project Manager reports directly to the Director of Product Development, working with the Product and Services team as the primary interface between internal engineering resources, subcontractors, customers, and company senior leadership to ensure technical, cost, and performance objectives are achieved. As an important member of a rapidly growing company, the Project Manager will also contribute to business development and marketing initiatives in accordance with Ravenswood Solutions strategic business objectives, as well as client projects that may emerge from those activities.
Position Responsibilities:?
The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering foundation with project management, subcontractor oversight, and proposal development experience in the defense industry. This position requires technical and managerial experience so that they can intelligently lead a team of engineers and work with a Program Manager to ensure all deliverables are met on time and within budget. They will also need to work closely with business development, sales, and marketing professionals as well as customers and industry partners on a regular basis. The ideal candidate balances the need to creatively promote Ravenswood offerings and drive business growth with the need to manage each project effectively, hitting cost, schedule, and performance targets.
The specific responsibilities of this position include:
  • Program leadership to lead multiple projects from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans with resource allocation, risk management, and budget tracking.
  • Engineering coordination to translate customer requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers supporting product development.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet changing requirements.
  • Serve as a primary customer interface for assigned projects.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
  • Ensure quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented, high-performance team environment.
  • Build and develop strong working relationships internal and external to Ravenswood.

Additional duties include:
  • Support Business Development activities including capture management, proposal writing, solution development, marketing, pricing, cashflow modeling, and supply chain development
  • Develop technical volumes, management plans, schedules, and basis-of-estimate inputs
  • Help to create, maintain, and evolve Ravenswood's product roadmap?
  • Travel to partner and customer sites for onsite support and collaboration

Requirements
Education and Professional Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Computer Engineering, or related discipline).
  • 8+ years of engineering and/or defense industry experience
  • 3+ years leading technical development projects
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Experience managing engineering teams through product development lifecycles.
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules.
  • Experience with both proposal costing and project budget execution.
  • Experience managing subcontractors or suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification.
  • Experience with Army training and simulation programs.
  • Experience with laser systems, RF systems, embedded electronics, or military communications.
