Job description

Position Summary

NCS is seeking an experienced and motivated DAS Project Manager to oversee and execute Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and Public Safety communications projects from installation through commissioning. This position requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute DAS and Public Safety (ERRCS/BDA) projects from kickoff through project closeout.
  • Install, configure, test, and commission active components, including Cellular DAS, Public Safety BDA systems, UPS systems, and annunciator panels in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with leading Public Safety manufacturers, including SureCall, ADRF, Westell, Cobham, and similar platforms.
  • Perform system troubleshooting and optimization utilizing spectrum analyzers, signal generators, sweep testing equipment, and manufacturer-specific software.
  • Terminate, test, certify, and troubleshoot coaxial, fiber optic, and category cabling systems.
  • Conduct RF testing, cable sweeps, signal verification, and system performance validation.
  • Ensure installations comply with applicable building, fire, electrical, and life-safety codes.
  • Coordinate project schedules, manpower, materials, subcontractors, and customer communications.
  • Lead and supervise installation crews while maintaining project quality and safety standards.
  • Accurately document project progress through daily reports, material tracking, expense reporting, and customer communications.
  • Collect and deliver complete project closeout documentation, including:
    • RF testing and antenna power readings
    • Cable sweep results
    • Installation photographs
    • As-built documentation
    • Inspection and commissioning reports
  • Participate in customer meetings, site surveys, and project planning activities.
  • Travel to various job sites as required.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in DAS, Public Safety BDA/ERRCS, wireless communications, structured cabling, or related telecommunications fields.
  • PC TEL Sea Hawk Certification
  • NICET 2
  • Strong understanding of RF principles and wireless communication systems.
  • Experience with spectrum analyzers, sweep testing equipment, and RF troubleshooting tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, RF designs, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable NFPA, IFC, IBC, fire alarm, electrical, and life safety codes is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, rooftops, and construction sites.
