Geotab is seeking a Hardware Developer Intern who will be supporting the Hardware team in the design and verification of Geotab devices and/or auxiliary devices. To be successful in this role you will need to be independent, detail oriented, with a keen desire to learn more. What you'll do:As a Hardware Developer Intern you will need to work closely with your colleagues on the Hardware team, as well as Mechanical, Embedded system, and Production teams. To be successful in this role you will need to be independent, detail oriented, with a keen desire to learn more.
The opportunity:- 12-month work-term beginning May 2027.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.

- Hardware verification against board requirements and debug hardware issues
- Design schematics and Printed Circuit Boards in Altium
- Build and assemble (i.e. solder) Printed Circuit Assembly prototypes
- Create test plans and verify new circuit designs
- Perform testing using oscilloscopes, temperature chambers, and other lab equipment
- Writing investigation reports in a clear and readable manner
- Research new technologies
- Creating and releasing professional documentation
- Maintaining and organizing physical inventory using Databases, Product Lifecycle Management
- Optimizing and finding efficiencies with scripts and other innovative solutions
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree program or related field
- Ability to read schematics
- Demonstrated ability to dig deep and learn without supervision
- University design team or electronics hobbyist
- Experience soldering and working hands-on with electronics
- Experience with Altium Designer or any other ECAD software
- Database experience, or demonstrated ability to organize data
- Experience with RF test equipment.
