** POSITION WILL BE ONSITE AT SAMTEC's PA CABLE PLANT - LIMERICK, PA** 

Summary/Objective:  The RF Product Development Engineer will be responsible for moving new product designs and line extensions through the development and release process.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities: 
  • Reviews product designs, identifies risks and takes actions to mitigate. 
  • Initiates requests for FAI, Design Verification Testing (DVT), SI and IPG (solderability) inspections/test. 
  • Assembles and debugs 1st assemblies.  Verifies product before submission for testing. 
  • Provides engineering support for pre-production builds. 
  • Confirms FAI, IPG (solderability), SI and Design Verification Testing (DVT) Test reports.  Manages, tracks and communicates corrective actions as required. 
  • Rationalizes test results with product scope and directs edits to PSS as required. 
  • Leads Design Review #4 & Routes Final Release Forms; manages feedback as required. 
  • Actively participate and support peer design reviews and other team efforts. 
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly. 
  • Work and communicate regularly with Marketing, Quality and Operations 
  • Utilize the Project Tracking System (PTS) and updates tasks on at least a weekly basis. 

** The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities. **

Required Experience: 
  • 3+ years’ experience in design and development of RF connectors. 
  • Experience with 3d CAD software is required. (Solidworks is desired). 
  • Knowledge of Samtec Engineering systems is desired. 
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills, a professional demeanor, cooperative personality and a team attitude are all required.  Works well with others and interacts effectively and efficiently with internal and external people and groups. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive cross functional team expertise including technical and non-technical work.
  • Analytical and creative thinker, problem solver, result-orientated and focused.
  • Motivated, high achiever, persistent and conscientious. 
Preferred Education: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
