About the Team: 

The STR Sensors Division specializes in the development of advanced sensor systems, with a particular focus on airborne and surface-based radar, space-based sensing, electronic warfare, and underwater acoustics. This position is within the Space Missions and Sensing (SMS) Sector of the Sensors Division. In this sector, we develop and deliver technology to advance space-based sensing, space control, and counter-sensing missions. 

The Role: 

The SMS Sector is seeking a RF Engineer to support design, development, integration and test activities in a Research & Development environment. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team developing countersensing systemsfor radar,electronic  warfare and other applications. This position offers significant opportunities for career growth within a fast-paced and rapidly expanding company. 

What you will do: 

  • Workwithsmall,multi-disciplinaryteamstoarchitect,design, implement, and testRF hardware systemsenablingnovel sensing, electronic warfare, and signal processing systems.The systemsare predominantlyfielded asdeployable prototypes with theobjectiveof transitioningto low-volume productsystems
  • Collaborate with the team toquantifygoals,system performanceobjectives, requirements, metrics,dependencies, andrisksto guide yourwork
  • Design, simulate and test RF hardware systems, with an emphasis on RF system integration, test, and verification
  • Performperformancetradestudies andanalyses of proposed hardwarearchitectures.Conduct performance analysis through simulations and real-world testing to validate system performance.
  • Build,perform bench-topunit test,integrate, calibrate, anddemonstrate/document system performance
  • Work withsignal processing team on sensing system testconcept and execution methods
  • Plan and implement over-the-air system tests and demonstrations,evaluatehardware and system readiness, , develop and evaluate performance metrics, verify requirements, manage system configuration and data, and write operational procedures, and performance reports
  • Reviewsystemeffectiveness andidentifyopportunities toadvance and/ormaturesubsystems andsystemcapabilities
  • Prepare documentation including design specifications, drawings, test plans, and reports

Who you are: 

  • This position requiresthe ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship isrequiredby U.S.Government
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+yearsexperienceworkingwithRFcomponentsandsubsystems, includingT/R modules,rotary joints, pedestal,filters, radiatingstructures,isolators, amplifiers,cables, ADC/DAC,etc
  • Designexperiencein:RF systems,subsystems,and/orcomponentanalysis(frequency planning,linkbudget analysis,transceiverarchitectures, cascade analysis)
  • Experienced in RF component/subsystem/systemtest and measurement equipmentand techniques(anechoicchambers, oscilloscopes, vector networkanalyzers, spectrum analyzers, signalgenerators)
  • Proficiencyin MATLABand/or Pythonand/orother higher-level languages
  • Strong Mathematical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills 

Even Better: 

  • Experience integrating hardware and software, software development and or experience integrating FPGA's
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with:
    • RFsystems engineeringand technologiesinone or more of thefollowing areas:sensing and electronic warfare applications including electronic attack, electronic protection, cognitive EW,radar, and advanced ESM techniques 
  • Priordesignexperiences in one or more of the following:
    • Antennas
    • RFPrintedCircuitBoards
    • RF Integrated Circuits
    • Transceiver building blocks (power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers,oscillators,mixers, filters)

Full-Time Salary Range: $134,000 - $184,000

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
