SUMMARY - Buyer
Purchase MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) parts and products such as Safety PPE, Tools, Tooling, machine repair parts, consumables, cleaning products, machining oils, coolants, solvents, building supplies, etc..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Negotiates price, payment option, selects and orders parts, chemicals, consumables, etc. from vendors.
Monitor pricing, costs and quality to determine best vendor selection.
Interact and/or contact carriers to arrange transportation of supplies.
Verify quantity and quality of material received from vendor.
Enters information into ERP system.
Coordinate all vendor return issues as communicated from QA or department Managers. Negotiate costs with transportation (i.e.,parts are rejected to supplier for rework, supplier would pay for freight to/from their facility for the rework), and/or any additional costs incurred at company due to the quality issues.
Authorize payment of invoices.
Develop and implement procedures for subcontractor operations and incoming raw materials including laser cut blanks, stampings, forgings, etc.
Maintain contact with suppliers with past delivery problems in advance of due dates to insure that they will be on-time.
Update and maintain Purchasing Manager with supplier names, contacts, email addresses and phone numbers for all MRO suppliers.
Review freight classification errors/inconsistencies to ensure accuracy of billing.
Complete Conflict Minerals Report for designated customers.
Conduct buyer responsibilities and tasks according to established ISO procedures.
