Position Overview
Sofidel America is actively searching for a dedicated Converting Assistant Rewinder Operator to join our team, collaborating closely with our Machine Operator to maintain the efficient operation of our machinery.
Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Machine Operator under their guidance and direction to learn essential machine operation skills.
  • Support Sofidel America's Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic workplace.
  • Apply customer specifications to machine operation to ensure finished products meet customer requirements.
  • Program and monitor computerized operating panels, calculate core size, roll diameters, required footage, and perforation.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust the rewinder and downstream equipment to meet production quotas.
  • Program the log saw, clamp products in the log saw, and verify cut accuracy, making adjustments as needed.
  • Perform hourly quality checks, submit daily quality reports to the QA department, and assist with product change-overs.
  • Collaborate with Rapid Changeover Technicians (RCO Techs) for change-overs and adjustments.
  • Adjust embossing units and core chucks as required.
  • Maintain open communication with the quality, maintenance, and supervision teams.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills consistently.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, adhering to lean initiatives.

Job Requirements
  • High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Prior experience preferred, but not necessarily required in unique circumstances.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and quality manuals.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
