Job description

Overview
The BIM Revit Designer plays a key role in developing complex BIM models and ensuring that electrical designs are accurately represented and coordinated with other disciplines. They provide expertise in optimizing model performance and implementing design standards.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine detailed electrical BIM models and system designs.
  • Provide technical support and design recommendations based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other specialists to integrate electrical systems into building models.
  • Conduct reviews and validation of electrical designs for accuracy and compliance with codes and standards.
  • Prepare and manage detailed design documentation and specifications.
  • Uses BIM tools (Revit + Navisworks, for example) to identify and resolve conflicts between systems before construction begins.
  • Embeds information (materials, dimensions, product specs,etc.) into models for accurate cost estimation and project management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, BIM modeling, or a related role.
  • Advanced knowledge of BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks), strong understanding of electrical systems, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • BIM certification or professional engineering license is preferred.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Revit (families, templates, parametric modeling)
  • Understanding of construction practices and building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/engineering drawings.
  • Problem-solving for design and coordination issues.
