Job description

Sharpe Engineering & Equipment is seeking a Mechanical Systems Designer (Revit/Process Design) to support the design and development of engineering solutions for food and beverage processing facilities. This role plays a key part in translating engineering concepts into detailed 3D models, layouts, and construction documentation that support process piping systems, equipment integration, and facility infrastructure.

You will work closely with Sharpe’s engineering, fabrication, and installation teams to develop accurate design packages that enable efficient project execution from concept through installation. This position contributes directly to Sharpe’s ability to deliver precise, high-quality solutions across process, packaging, and automation systems. This role reflects Sharpe’s Core Values: Integrity, Collaboration, Responsibility, Commitment to Stakeholders, and People-Centric Focus.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering Support

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D models of process piping systems, equipment layouts, and facility infrastructure using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Produce construction, fabrication, and installation drawings that support project execution.
  • Translate engineering concepts and project requirements into clear, accurate design deliverables.
  • Develop piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and utility routing for food processing and packaging systems.
  • Work with point clouds in Revit to support accurate modeling of existing facilities and equipment layouts.

Drawing Development & Documentation

  • Prepare detailed design drawings including general arrangements, piping layouts, and equipment integration plans.
  • Implement design revisions and project markups from engineering and project teams.
  • Maintain organized project drawing files and documentation.
  • Ensure drawings adhere to internal standards and project documentation requirements.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with process, mechanical, and controls engineers to ensure design deliverables reflect project requirements.
  • Coordinate with fabrication and installation teams to ensure designs support constructability and efficient field execution.
  • Support internal project teams during design reviews and technical discussions.

Brand Position & Communications

  • Create and manage high-quality marketing content including social media posts, blogs, presentations, trade show materials, case studies, and sales collateral.
  • Maintain and update marketing assets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to develop graphics, videos, and promotional materials.

Field & Project Support

  • Participate in site visits to collect field measurements, verify layouts, and support installation activities as needed.
  • Identify potential design conflicts or improvements that enhance installation efficiency and system performance.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure designs align with industry standards, safety guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of drawing standards, templates, and documentation practices.
