About Ritterband & Co.

Ritterband Tax & Accounting Solutions, LLC is a growing CPA firm with offices in Alpharetta, Lawrenceville, and Fayetteville, Georgia. We provide comprehensive tax, accounting, bookkeeping, and audit services to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and trusts across the United States. We are a firm that takes pride in its work, invests in its team, and holds itself to a high technical standard.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Tax Reviewer to join our team in a senior technical capacity. This is a high-level review role focused on complex entity returns, nonprofit filings, and multi-state or high-net-worth situations. You will work closely with our Tax Technical Lead and managing partner to ensure the highest standard of accuracy and compliance across a diverse client portfolio.

While the primary focus of this role is senior review and quality control, you will also prepare complex returns where required. You will be the final technical checkpoint before returns go to the client, and your expertise will set the standard for the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing high-net-worth individual returns (1040) with complex schedules including K-1s, passive activity, foreign income, and alternative minimum tax

• Identifying and resolving technical issues, errors, and inconsistencies prior to client delivery

• Providing technical guidance and training to junior and mid-level preparers

• Reviewing and approving e-file authorisations and ensuring all compliance deadlines are met

• Researching complex tax issues and applying current IRS guidance, regulations, and case law

• Collaborating with the Tax Technical Lead on workflow prioritisation and quality control

• Reviewing multi-state apportionment, nexus issues, and state-specific compliance requirements

• Supporting clients with entity structuring, tax planning, and estimated tax analysis as needed

• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax law changes and communicating impacts to the team

• Assisting with IRS correspondence and notice responses where technically complex

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications — Required:

• Active CPA licence or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation — non-negotiable

• Minimum 7+ years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on entity taxation

• Proven experience reviewing S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, Trust, and Nonprofit returns at a senior level

• Deep working knowledge of federal tax law and multi-state taxation

• Experience with high-net-worth individuals and complex 1040 returns

• Strong proficiency in Lacerte (required) and Karbon or similar practice management platforms

• Exceptional attention to detail with a thorough, methodical review process

• Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and communicate clearly with team members

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Advantageous:

• Experience with exempt organizations and Form 990 / 990-T filings

• Familiarity with trust and estate taxation and fiduciary returns

• Experience reviewing returns in a multi-partner or multi-office CPA firm environment

• Exposure to tax planning, entity structuring, and advisory services

• Experience with IRS audit representation and complex notice responses

• Knowledge of international tax issues including FBAR, PFIC, or foreign income exclusions

Personal Attributes:

• Technically excellent with a commitment to quality and accuracy

• A natural mentor who takes ownership of team standards

• Calm under pressure during peak tax season

• Proactive communicator who flags issues early

• Confident working remotely and managing their own workflow
