Job description

Capital Electric has a Transfer / Return Associate position available at our Upper Marlboro, NC location. A Warehouse Transfer / Return Associate for Capital Electric is responsible for overseeing incoming and outgoing shipment activity, assisting warehouse associates in daily activities, and keeping the warehouse stocked in an orderly fashion to help the branch maintain being the electrical distributor of choice in their area.


Responsibilities

  • Receiving the Return: The item arrives back at the warehouse's returns dock or designated area
  • Inspection and Processing: Inspect the item to determine its condition (e.g., damaged, sellable, needs repair). This requires tracking the item's journey and determine necessary actions, such as refunding the customer or restocking the inventory.
  • Transfer to Storage or Dumpster: The item is then moved from the processing area to its appropriate location.
  • Learn our Solar Eclipse software
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipment activity to company standards
  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness to company standards
  • Communicate with warehouse leadership
  • Oversee (and assist) WH Associate:
    • Verifying and packaging products for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
    • Staging product for loading
    • Loading product onto truck
    • Unloading materials from truck
    • Moving materials to warehouse for storage
    • Moving waste to dumpsters
  • Responsible for quality control
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety standards
  • Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT). Stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit-down propane forklift
  • Other duties assigned


Requirements

  • 3+ years warehouse experience
  • Turret Forklift Driver
  • Ability to perform accurate work and pay close attention to details
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on regular basis; 70 lbs occasionally
  • Proficient use of a Reach Truck forklift will be required.
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task on a regular basis
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Time management skills.
