Job description

Admissions Coordinator

Description:

Establish and maintain trusting and professional relationships with referring parties.

Work closely with the Director of Admissions, Business Development, Directors of Clinical Services, Nursing, and Medical Directors to assist with admitting clients.

Maintain accurate databases client census, when cases are opened/closed, etc.

Engage with referring parties in a professional and collaborative manner to understand referring parties' needs, being aware that many referring parties call in an effort to transfer clients to other programs or seek additional help for clients in need of multiple services.

Collect preadmission information including clinical, medical, and financial information, and collaborate with the appropriate departments to determine treatment recommendations. Input information to EMR as appropriate and in strict compliance with HIPAA.

Demonstrates competency and understanding of clinic consent packets and is able to assist patients in their completion.

Demonstrates basic knowledge of expected UA collection.

Participate with Directors of Business Development, Business Office, Clinical Services, Medical, and/or Nursing to identify and remedy any barriers to clients receiving services.

Enter client data into facility client databases.

Be fully aware of all facility programs, their eligibility requirements, competencies and strengths.

Track referrals on a daily basis and provide weekly and monthly reports to appropriate facility staff/departments.

Follow up with clients who have not successfully connected to services.

Verify insurance benefits and demonstrate competency in understanding and communicating about treatment costs.

Accurately processes patient payments and notifies billing office of payments to ensure proper account credit.

Maintain professional credentials and supervision requirements as necessary.

Contribute to on-call phone rotation as required.

Performs other duties and tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

High School diploma or equilvency or 1 year work experience preferably in the field of chemical dependency and/or behavioral health.

Preferred experienced as a Admission Coordinator, Direct Care Staff or Technician, preferably in the field of chemical dependency and/or behavioral health.

Preferred associates degree or higher.

Preferred substance abuse certification (CIT)
