Retread Manager

The Retread Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retread plant, leading a team of 8–12 employees, and ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role manages plant operations, inventory, expenses, staffing, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced commercial tire facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, coach, and develop plant employees while managing daily staffing and performance.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and efficiency to meet company standards and production goals.
  • Manage casing and tread rubber inventory, plant expenses, and purchasing.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate tire distribution routes between company locations and ensure equipment and vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Analyze production data, identify improvement opportunities, and support cost-saving initiatives.
  • Perform physical duties as needed, including lifting commercial tires, standing, bending, and working in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience in a retread plant preferred, but solid production / operations background is required.
  • Recent truck tire retreading experience preferred 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and computer proficiency.
