Job description

Administrative and professional work with duties related to planning or zoning functions. Performs preliminary review of planning or zoning applications and permits for compliance with the Comprehensive Plan and/or Land Development Regulations, and assists with hearings. Interacts frequently with the general public and agents, including receiving and disseminating information, maintaining databases intended for collecting, analyzing, and tracking data for various projects, monitoring performance measures, file management, and generating reports, including the review and preparation of plans, maps, and data. Work involves administrative duties that are time-sensitive and may be confidential in nature while exercising initiative and independent judgement to meet deadlines. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through meetings, reports, and results achieved.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience processing, preparing, or reviewing development-related applications or projects,
OR
• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience working with a governmental agency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
• Experience with data analysis,
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) map preparation,
• Experience with researching and analyzing information to form recommendations, and
• Customer service experience.
