Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Assistsinthe repair, training, and tracking of on-site equipment,vehiclesand machinery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair
    • Fulfills dailyassignmentsand dutiesof the auto shop.
    • Possesses the skills and knowledge to repair Forest Home vehicles,equipmentand machinery
    • Evaluates and implements the most cost-effective means of accomplishing goals.
    • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
    • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
    • Utilizes CMMS for work order management,trackingand completion of all requests.
    • Performs periodic inspections of equipment.
    • Responsible for keeping inventory and tools organized and in good condition.
    • Ability to work in extreme hot orcold conditions
    • Assistsin snow removal and other tasks asassignedincluding after normal work hours.
  • Training
    • Provides and receives training to advance the auto shop's skill set with vehicles and equipment.
    • Complies withfactory specifications in relationship to equipment andmaterial andassures that all materials are handled according to factory recommendations and training.
    • Stay up to date on new products and product changes and service opportunities.
    • Operates and trains others tooperateequipment and tools in a safe manner.
  • Tracking
    • Monitor vehicle registrations, smog certificates,servicingand maintenance records to ensure compliance and timeliness.
    • Recommend and implement improvementsofpreventive maintenance programs.
    • Perform in assignedareas asrelated to ourcmms.
  • Safety
    • Ensures facilities and equipment are kept in safe working condition andreportspotential safety issues and recommendsappropriate changes.
    • Operate different tools and equipment such as golf carts, company vehicles, heavy equipment, forklifts, etc. in a safe manner.
    • Understand andcomply withall federal,stateand localregulationsincluding OSHA.
    • Complies withfactory specifications in relationship to equipment andmaterial andassures that all materials are handled according to factory recommendations and training.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience.
  • Skilled with Microsoft programs and mustpossessabilitytolearnsoftware such as a CMMS.
  • Hold andmaintaina Class B driving certification with a Hazardous material certification from the DMV in the State of California. This certification must be completed within a 6-monthperiod of timefromthe hiredate.
