Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
  • Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense or potentially violent situations.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
  • Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
  • Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
  • Comply with all state regulations, including maintaining current armed security licensure in Wisconsin.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (minimum of 1 hour).
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be capable of functioning independently and remaining calm in high-pressure or intense situations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid private security license.
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test screening.
  • Preferred candidates that have basic security officer license and the 36-hour armed license would be optimal.
    1. Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) - must have retired in good standing after 10+ years of service, complete annual firearms qualifications.

    2. Must have Wisconsin Private Security Person permit (Guard Card) per WI Statute 440.26 and WI Admin Code SPS 30.

    3. Reliable transportation.

    4. Immediate response for call up services,(ie special media escort services, media special events [parades etc] and to fill security positions at the Fox 6 station).

    5. Good health. (standing for hours, walking around and observation skills).
