Daily Bus Driver (Sub Part Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Daily Bus Driver (Sub part time)

Qualifications:
  • Current Alabama Driver's License, Commercial Driver's License and insurable with MPS insurance
  • Experience operating school buses
  • Ability to communicate with the public and school age children preferred
Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Operates school buses in accordance with Alabama Law and Departmental regulations.
  • Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned bus and equipment
  • Allow only authorized personnel on the bus. Pick up and discharge passengers only at authorized stops.
  • Maintains discipline of students while on the bus. Reports violations and discrepancies to proper authorities.
  • Prepares and submits reports, time cards, in accordance with Departmental regulations.
  • May assist special need passengers in boarding and exiting the bus
  • Cleans assigned vehicle; attends training and in-service activities
  • Foster a positive relationship with parents and students
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Rate: $94.11/per day

The person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.20 fee. This is required by law.

For employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
