As a mission-driven, not-for-profit healthcare system, we provide integrated services in hospice, serious illness care, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), community thrift shops, and grief support. Through compassion, expertise, and respect, we are reimagining how communities experience aging, serious illness, and end-of-life care.

As a Thrift Shop Manager, you'll play an essential role in supporting Blue Ridge Care's mission while leading a successful retail operation that directly benefits the communities we serve. This position combines leadership, customer service, community engagement, and operational excellence to create a welcoming shopping and donation experience for customers, donors, volunteers, and staff.

  • Ensure merchandise is appropriately evaluated, priced, displayed, and rotated.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming shopping environment.

  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and support staff in handling complex situations.

  • Manage cash handling, deposits, daily reconciliations, and store paperwork accurately.

  • Review financial results and share key operational updates with staff.

  • Supervise volunteers and community service participants while providing orientation, feedback, and guidance.

  • Coordinate silent auctions and customer communications regarding auction items.

  • Monitor inventory and order supplies to support ongoing store operations.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Thrift Operations to address staffing, operational, and performance needs.

  • Support Blue Ridge Care's mission, vision, and values through everyday interactions and leadership.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of three (3) years of management experience required.

  • Retail management experience preferred.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Computer proficiency or willingness to learn required.

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively with customers, donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners.

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.

  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the service area as needed.
