Job description

Helms College is seeking experienced Goodwill professionals to serve as adjunct online faculty within the Retail Operations Management program and share their industry expertise with the next generation of Goodwill leaders.

Potential courses may include Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management, Introduction to Donated Goods Retail Store Operations, Processing and Pricing of Donated Goods Retail, Donated Goods Retail Inventory Management, Donated Goods Retail Store Design & Merchandising, Donor Acquisition, Electronic Commerce, Fundamentals of Customer Service, Safety and Loss Prevention, Introduction to Sustainability Science, and Career Development.

These are fully remote adjunct teaching opportunities. Courses are delivered in 5.5-week terms using an online format that includes asynchronous coursework and scheduled live class sessions via Microsoft Teams. Competitive per-course stipend.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current employment with a Goodwill organization.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience within the Goodwill network.
  • Demonstratable working experience in the subject area relevant to the course being taught.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a field related to the instructional assignment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching and supporting adult learners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and basic instructional technology.
  • Ability and willingness to facilitate scheduled live online class sessions via Microsoft Teams as required by the course schedule.
  • Experience using a learning management system (LMS) is preferred.
  • Previous online teaching or training experience is preferred.
