Job Summary:

The Retail Sales Floor Associate supports a consistently positive shopper experience by helping maintain a clean, organized, well merchandised, and welcoming store environment during assigned shifts. This role focuses on providing friendly, efficient service through point of sale transactions, sales floor standards, merchandising, and overall store readiness, while following established processes aligned with Goodwill's mission of Changing Lives through Education, Training, and Employment.
Under the direction of store management, this role focuses on consistent task completion and excellent shopper service, supporting sales floor and front-end operations to ensure the store remains clean, organized, and easy to navigate throughout the day, grounded in Goodwill's values of Teamwork, Respect, Uprightness, and Empowerment.

Job Description

Essential Functions

Shopper Experience
  • Support the delivery of a consistently positive shopper experience during assigned shifts by helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
  • Provide a worldclass shopper experience by Greeting, Respecting, Engaging, Assisting, and Thanking every shopper.
  • Accurately process pointofsale transactions while delivering friendly, efficient service and supporting smooth customer flow at the front end.
  • Support shopready merchandising standards through timely recovery, basic replenishment, and adherence to established presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety across all shopperfacing areas, including registers, aisles, fitting rooms, restrooms, and checkout zones.
  • Assist shoppers with questions, product location, fitting rooms, and checkout needs in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Support signage placement, price accuracy, fixture organization, and product presentation by following established processes and reporting concerns to store leadership.
Store Readiness & Daily Operations
  • Complete assigned tasks to support overall store readiness, including recovery, merchandising support, and basic housekeeping throughout the shift.
  • Support opening and closing routines assigned to ensure the store is ready to serve shoppers at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Assist with basic backroom, production, or operational support tasks as directed by store leadership.
Compliance, Safety & Operational Standards
  • Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and operational procedures during assigned shifts.
  • Practice safe work behaviors and report hazards, incidents, or concerns to store management.
  • Follow cashhandling, pricing integrity, and lossprevention procedures to support a safe and compliant shopping environment.
Schedule & Flexibility
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall store operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

  • Prior retail, customer service, or production experience preferred, but not required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to deliver friendly, respectful, and helpful shopper service.
  • Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
