POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor monitors and supervises all related areas of the production department as assigned by the Operations Manager.ย 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain an efficient and productive line of cooperation and ย communication within the Department and through the Organizational Structureย 
  • Review all paperwork required in a neat, legible, and timely manner
  • Report all employee absences, tardiness, accidents, company rules infractions, or job performance problems to the Operations Manager or office personnel as assigned.ย 
  • Report mechanical problems immediately to the maintenance department and create work orders into Asset ย ย ย ย ย Essentials
  • Train the assistant supervisor to assume all related duties for days off, illness, vacation, or out of plant work days
  • Maintain and populate RedZone as required
  • Meet and maintain company objectives and efficiency standards for the department, including:
    • Overtime within seasonal variations
    • Yield and waste
    • Occupational Safety
    • Quality and food safety
    • Sanitation
  • Support Manager by monitoring and reporting performance and disciplinary matters employees while maintaining a high level of morale in the production room by:
    • Treating employees with respect and addressing them by name
    • Refraining from using harsh language
    • Being fair and impartial when making judgmentsย 
    • Recognizing employee achievementsย 
    • Coaching employeesย 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent exposure to product fumes such as onions, peppers, etc.
  • Exposure to chemicals such as chlorine and other sanitation agents.
  • Work in varying temperature conditions, including 45F or lower.
  • High-pressure environment to meet production schedules and company efficiency standards.
  • Requires overtime and additional hours as needed and due to seasonal periodsย 
  • Frequent interaction with production staff, other departments, and support groups.
  • Work involves supervising, training, and maintaining morale among employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent to constant standing and walking during shifts.
  • Occasional to frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of products weighing 5 to 50 pounds
  • Occasional to frequent repetitive hand motions, such as writing or handling products.
  • Visual ability to monitor production lines, inspect products, and review documentation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Possess verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a fresh food or production environment
  • Must have own transportation
  • Must have a working knowledge of the English language
  • Basic Mathematical abilitiesย 
  • Ability to interact across departments ย 
  • Ability to train staff on safety requirements and enforce safety requirementsย
