Position Summary
The Operations Lead supports daily retail operations by serving as an on-duty Retail Host and operational lead within a high-volume cannabis retail environment. This role performs all core Retail Host duties while also supporting operational execution, customer experience, compliance, and shift-level coordination. The Operations Lead operates in accordance with company policies and Nevada cannabis regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist retail customers by providing accurate product information to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Verify customer eligibility and identification in accordance with Nevada cannabis laws prior to completing sales transactions.
- Accurately operate and maintain the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Ensure accuracy of transaction, cash handling, and inventory data entered into required systems.
- Follow proper cash handling procedures, including discounts and promotions as applicable.
- Greet customers and answer incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with inventory intake, stocking, merchandising, and sales floor organization in accordance with procedures.
- Prepare, verify, and complete curbside pickup orders when assigned, ensuring proper identity verification and payment handling.
- Maintain customer and patient confidentiality in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements.
- Support smooth day-to-day retail operations by assisting with customer flow, operational issues, and shift transitions.
- Serve as an on-floor resource to support adherence to procedures, compliance requirements, and customer service standards.
- Provide real-time guidance and support to team members during shifts without exercising formal supervisory authority.
- Open and close the retail location in accordance with established procedures when assigned, including completion of required checklists, security steps, and documentation.
- Oversee day-to-day shift operations in the absence of a manager by coordinating workflow, addressing immediate operational needs, and escalating issues to management as appropriate.
- Coordinate and assign employee rest and meal periods during shifts and help ensure breaks are taken in accordance with company policy and applicable law; escalate coverage issues or conflicts to management as needed.
- Assist with opening, closing, and shift handoff activities as assigned.
- Identify operational, safety, security, or compliance concerns and escalate appropriately to management.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and general upkeep of the sales floor, inventory areas, and workspaces.
- Maintain open, professional communication with management and coworkers.
- Support store leadership with operational tasks, documentation, or special projects as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- All retail, customer interaction, inventory, security, and operational activities are performed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory expectations.
Schedule and Work Hours
This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
