Summary

The VP, Retail Banking - St. Louis Region plays a vital role in leading and driving the performance of branch locations within the St. Louis market. This role is focused on fostering a thriving environment for both employees and members by delivering exceptional member experiences, promoting consultative sales, strengthening household engagement, and driving sustainable market growth. The VP leads, coaches, problem-solves, and guides Branch Managers and teams toward achieving strategic objectives while maintaining the highest standards of accountability, operational excellence, compliance, and risk management.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the VP, Retail Banking you will provide strategic leadership across multiple branch locations while developing high-performing teams, enhancing member relationships, and driving market growth. You'll play a critical role in strengthening CommunityAmerica's branch network through:

Team Leadership & Development
  • Attract, cultivate, and retain top talent while fostering a culture of growth, development, and accountability.
  • Assess employee performance, provide meaningful coaching and feedback, and set high standards for success.
  • Identify and develop future leaders by creating opportunities for professional advancement and succession planning.
  • Equip Branch Managers with the skills needed to lead effective team meetings, coaching sessions, huddles, performance conversations, and employee development.
Sales & Member Experience Excellence
  • Create a dynamic sales environment by championing CommunityAmerica's Member Experience standards and consultative sales approach.
  • Coach and mentor Branch Managers to deepen member relationships and ensure Members receive the right solutions to meet their financial goals.
  • Foster an environment where employees consistently demonstrate our values of Caring, Can-Do, Ethical, and Inclusion while delivering exceptional service.
Performance & Operational Leadership
  • Analyze performance and operational data to identify opportunities for growth and process improvement across the region.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Branch Managers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Partner proactively with key stakeholders to maximize market performance and business growth.
  • Lead teams through change and ambiguity while promoting innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Ensure branch teams adhere to audit standards, compliance requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Support effective fraud mitigation strategies and maintain strong operational controls to protect Members and the organization.
Industry Expertise & Strategic Insight
  • Stay current on industry trends, market changes, and emerging best practices.
  • Leverage insights and data to inform strategic decisions, improve branch performance, and position the organization for long-term success.

Community Engagement & Business Development

  • Maintain a strong presence within the communities you serve by building relationships with local organizations, businesses, and influencers.
  • Elevate CommunityAmerica's brand, visibility, and reputation through community involvement and business development activities.
  • Drive market growth initiatives that strengthen the credit union's impact within the St. Louis region.
Requirements

What You Will Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within financial services, retail banking, or multi-location operations.
