The Ice Resurfacer Operator will ensure the ice surface is properly prepared before and after events, practices, and recreational sessions. This position is based outdoors at the iconic Winter Village at Bryant Park Ice Rink. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Assist with ice setup and takedown for eventsEnsure compliance with safety standards while operating machinery and working in proximity to athletes and spectatorsResponsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance of ice resurfacer and edgerMonitor ice quality throughout events or recreational sessions, adjusting as necessaryCollaborate with the ice operations team to ensure the efficient use of time and resourcesEnsure that the ice rink area is clean and free from hazardsPerform general maintenance tasks around the rink as assigned, including sweeping and cleaningRespond to all incidents, accidents, injuries, and altercations. Complete and file corresponding paperwork as necessaryAssist other departments as necessaryPractice safe operating techniques as specified by STAR for blade changes, driving, resurfacing, handling, and inspection of machines Accurately record all ice and equipment maintenance and readings dailyComplete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as directed by managementMIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must be willing to test for Fire Guard CertificationMust be 18 years of age or olderHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic knowledge of ice maintenance and resurfacing proceduresMust possess a valid driver's licenseCertified Ice Technician (CIT) preferredMust be able to work irregular shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays based on facility schedulesWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to sit for extended periods while operating machineryAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsMust be able to work in cold and inclement weather for prolonged periods of time
