Job Summary:
The primary role of the Restorative Nurse Aide is to provide appropriate aspects of quality patient care and support services under the direct supervision of licensed Therapists. Contribute to the overall positive image of the organization department. Ensures that all required documentation and required forms are appropriately completed included in patient charts.
Essential Duties (include but are not limited to):
  • Assists with and performs routine assigned physical and occupational therapy treatments; demonstrating knowledge of treatment goals and precautions in order to assist with or treat patients.
  • Provides direct restorative care and delegated therapy tasks.
  • Assisting CNAs in positioning, ROM ambulation, ADL, cones / splints / contracture care, ADL specifics, safety device application, appropriate padding and wheelchair cushions, and safety device release.
  • Follows all safety regulations, protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Communicates with facility staff.
  • Confers with therapists to establish efficient treatment schedules.
  • Transports, transfers and facilitates patient care as directed by therapists.
  • Prepares patient equipment and supplies for treatment.

Qualifications:
  • High School graduate.
  • Must have complete knowledge of medical terminology as applied to Rehabilitation and Restorative Nursing issues.
  • Able to communicate in the English both verbally and in writing.
  • Completion of an on-the-job orientation and training program or demonstrates competency in each of the designated areas.
  • Able to move and transfer residents in conjunction with standard treatment and in accordance with orientation and training program.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
