Do you love hospitality and the marina lifestyle? Are you looking for a server position where you can assure unforgettable experiences for restaurant guests? Mile Marker One - Waterfront Dining is looking for you. We are hiring for late April and May.
Mile Marker One is a restaurant serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and is open year-round. We're set on a beautiful marina. We have indoor dining and igloo dining. In the late spring, the Bridge Deck opens for a beautiful outdoor deck experience. The servers and bartenders are dedicated to making sure every guest has a wonderful time. We have live music sometimes with dinner. Wine tasting dinners and more. Currently we are open 5 days a week, but in the late spring we open 7 days a week. Mile Marker One is a fun friendly restaurant featuring amazing scallops, oysters, seafood and more! Everything from our burger to our lobster roll is incredibly delicious. In the Summer and Fall, we are very fast paced. In the Winter and Spring, we feature amazing food and wine pairing dinners, tequila dinners, and more. We host corporate events, rehearsal dinners, private and semi-private dining both in our restaurant and event space.
We are attached to a hotel as well with an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi.
This position is seasonal.

Position Summary:

As a Server at Mile Marker One, you will be the primary point of contact for our guests, responsible for providing outstanding service from the moment they are seated until they depart. You will guide guests through our menu, take orders accurately, ensure timely delivery of food and beverages, and address any needs or concerns with professionalism and a smile. Your role is crucial in creating a positive and memorable dining experience that encourages repeat business.

Responsibilities:

  • Guest Interaction: Approach guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor, introduce yourself, and establish rapport.
  • Menu Knowledge: Possess thorough knowledge of our menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, daily specials, and potential allergens. Be able to answer guest questions accurately and make recommendations.
  • Order Taking: Take food and beverage orders accurately, utilizing our point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently and ensuring all modifications and special requests are clearly communicated to the kitchen and bar.
  • Service Standards: Adhere to established service standards, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of food and beverages, pre-bussing tables, and anticipating guest needs.
  • Beverage Service: Take beverage orders, serve drinks responsibly, and have knowledge of our beer, wine, and cocktail selections.
  • Table Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned tables, ensuring they are properly set, cleared, and reset promptly.
  • Handling Payments: Present guest checks accurately, process payments efficiently using the POS system, and handle cash and credit card transactions with integrity.
  • Problem Solving: Address guest complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other team members, including hosts, bussers, kitchen staff, and bartenders, to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Restaurant Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about the restaurant's history, ambiance, and any special events or promotions.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and healthy environment for guests and staff.
