PROCUREMENT MANAGER:

Procurement Manager – Construction Industry
 Location: Des Moines | Full-Time | ️ On-Site

At Baxter Construction Company, we’re building more than structures—we’re building communities. With a reputation for excellence and innovation in the construction industry, we’re seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to join our growing team.

Role Overview:
 As our Procurement Manager, you’ll lead the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services essential to our construction projects. You’ll play a key role in ensuring cost-efficiency, quality, and timely delivery across all procurement activities. You will help establish and manage GPO involvement for additional purchasing saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets
  • Perform takeoffs and create estimates
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Manage vendor relationships and performance
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast material needs
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of procurement experience in the construction industry
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of local and national building material suppliers
  • Experience purchasing material and/or equipment.
