A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTAURANT GENERAL MANAGER

As a Restaurant General Manager, you are the person who keeps our restaurant successfully running. You work to ensure that all our guests and team members are happy and taken care of. Some of your duties include hiring employees, training staff, posting the schedule, finalizing inventory, and working the line with your team. You also ensure that the restaurant is clean and inviting to our guests. Leading by example, you offer exceptional customer service to our guests as they come in, answering their questions and handling any concerns in a professional manner.


You keep our team members motivated to provide the best service. You do this through team meetings, contests, and promotions. One-on-one meetings are important as well, and you take the opportunity to meet monthly with each employee. You carefully monitor the performance of our staff members and provide feedback as necessary. Working with the team, you help to create promotional ideas for our store. With attention to detail, you look through the sales and labor reports and find areas where we can improve. You enjoy keeping things in line and providing an experience that will keep our guests coming back!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of restaurant management experience with customer service and profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities
