PW General Cleaner I
Primary Responsibilities: Clean public areas, restrooms, offices, foyers and guest floor corridors according to hotel standards. Pick-up soiled linens from room attendants and restocks carts/closets with supplies and linen. Perform general or specialized cleaning and other miscellaneous unskilled tasks. Do restaurant cleaning, carpet cleaning or patch replacement. Deliver items requested by guests to rooms.
Essential Duties:
  1. Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, tiles, mirrors, counters, walls, stalls, vents and/or floors with cleaning agents.
  2. Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures and shelves.
  3. Clean and polish all metal surfaces.
  4. Monitor flooring and carpets. Spot clean, vacuum, sweep and/or mop hallways, foyers, stairwells and corridors.
  5. Obtain amenities and supplies for the Room Attendants.
  6. Collect and deliver guest laundry. Pick up or deliver all guest requests.
  7. Clean ashtrays and urns and empty trash.
  8. Clean and maintain all equipment and tools used to ensure proper working order.
  9. Properly handles lost and found items.
  10. Report any unauthorized or suspicious person or hazardous conditions on the guest room floors to security.
  11. Responsible for the control of hotel issued keys at all times.
  12. Perform duties following safety procedures and policies.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Other Duties:
  1. Assist the Room Attendants with removal of trash and linen from guest rooms during high occupancy turnover
  2. Assist with the relocation of furniture during the shampoo process.
  3. Respond to guest inquiries. Provide guest assistance, direction and information as needed.

Working Conditions:
  1. Works indoors in guest rooms, restaurants, corridors and landings with or without air-conditioning.
  2. Outdoors cleaning public areas.

Work Hours:
  1. Shifts vary from day to night/Housekeeping is a 24 hour operation.
  2. 7 day a week operation/days off will vary.

Equipment Use:
  1. Housekeeping cart to transport linen and supplies to room attendants.
  2. Vacuum cleaner, buffer, carpet shampooer
  3. Cleaning tools which includes, mop, broom, window cleaner, etc.
  4. Cleaning solutions

Mental and Physical Demands:
  1. Able to push/pull a fully supplied housekeeping cart.
  2. Able to kneel, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level to clean.
  3. Able to lift and carry heavy furniture, rugs, cleaning equipment.
  4. Able to stand and walk during entire shift.

Communication Demands:
  1. Must be able to read assignment sheet and directions for proper use of cleaning solutions.
  2. Must be able to communicate on the phone to Housekeeping Clerk.
  3. Must be able to verbally communicate to hotel guests.
  4. Must be able to communicate with a two way radio.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  1. Must be able to satisfactorily communicate verbally to receive instructions and communicate with guests.
  2. Must be able to understand and follow directions when handling cleaning solutions or chemicals.
