Position Overview
Generator Supercenter of Denver is seeking an experienced Master Plumber to provide responsible plumbing oversight for our Colorado operations. This is a W-2 employment role designed for a qualified plumbing professional who can provide technical supervision, code guidance, permitting support, inspection support, and field consultation related primarily to standby generator installations and associated gas piping work. A current Colorado Master Plumber license is preferred, but we are also open to candidates who hold an active state-issued Master Plumber or substantially equivalent plumbing license in Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Idaho, Wyoming, or another state and may be eligible for Colorado licensure by endorsement. The company will assist the right candidate with the Colorado licensing process.
Key Responsibilities
The Responsible Master Plumber will support plumbing operations by providing:
- Responsible plumbing oversight for company plumbing/gas work in Colorado
- Code and technical guidance for gas piping related to standby generator installations
- Support for permitting, inspections, and AHJ-related questions
- Review of plumbing/gas installation practices, documentation, and field standards
- Availability by phone, video, or in person when technical questions arise
- Guidance to field teams on compliant installation methods and issue resolution
- Support for inspection corrections, code interpretations, and escalated field questions
- Periodic review of company plumbing processes, checklists, and quality standards
- Occasional in-person support in Colorado when needed, with approved travel expenses paid by the company
Required Qualifications
- Active Master Plumber license or substantially equivalent plumbing credential issued by a U.S. state
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, fuel gas piping, permitting, and inspection requirements
- Experience supervising, qualifying, or providing responsible oversight for plumbing work
- Ability to provide practical guidance to field teams and company leadership
- Professional communication skills by phone, video, and email
- Willingness to apply for Colorado licensure by endorsement if not already licensed in Colorado
- Ability to serve as the responsible Master Plumber for a Colorado plumbing contractor if approved
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Colorado Master Plumber license
- Master Plumber license from Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Idaho, Wyoming, or another state with comparable licensing standards
- Experience with natural gas or propane piping
- Experience with residential mechanical/plumbing permitting and inspections
- Experience working with generator installations, gas load calculations, or utility coordination
- Prior experience serving as a qualifying party, responsible Master Plumber, RMP, or license qualifier
- Familiarity with remote technical oversight and field support
Schedule and Availability
This is a flexible W-2 oversight role. The position does not require daily jobsite attendance, but it does require reliable availability for a defined number of oversight hours each week.
The right candidate must be available for:
- Scheduled weekly check-ins as needed
- Phone or video support for field questions
- Permit or inspection-related consultation
- Technical review of plumbing/gas installation issues
- Occasional in-person support in Colorado if required
When in-person travel is required and approved, company-paid travel expenses will be covered.
Compensation
Structured as W-2 wages based on:
- Current licensing status
- Colorado endorsement eligibility
- Experience level
- Required availability
- Level of operational involvement
- Ability to serve as the responsible Master Plumber for the company
Company may assist with approved Colorado licensing and endorsement-related expenses for the right candidate.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced Master Plumber who wants to apply their license, knowledge, and leadership in a professional oversight role without needing to report to a jobsite every day. This person should be practical, responsive, code-conscious, and comfortable supporting a growing generator installation company that values safety, compliance, customer experience, and high-quality workmanship.
Equal Opportunity Statement
Generator Supercenter of Denver is an equal opportunity employer. We value professionalism, integrity, communication, accountability, and quality workmanship.
This is a remote position.
