The Data & Compensation Analyst supports the HRIS & Compensation Team Lead in administering the Countyโ€™s compensation and classification programs while also serving as a key HR operations analyst. The role assists with operational compensation activities including preparing salary offers, supporting market pricing, and providing analytical input into grade placement and job evaluation decisions while ensuring compensation benchmark data is accurate, consistent, and compliant.

In its HR operations capacity, the position develops and maintains dashboards, workforce metrics, visual analytics, and business intelligence tools that translate complex HR and compensation data into clear, actionable insights. This dual focus strengthens both compensation operations and enterprise HR analytics to support effective, datadriven decisionmaking across the County.  This role will be fully on-site with the eligibility for one day per week remote work after 6 months.

  • Conduct compensation analysis to support salary offers, promotional reviews, and internal equity assessments, preparing clear recommendations for leadership. 
  • Perform market pricing and benchmarking by reviewing survey data, analyzing market trends, and evaluating competitive compensation ranges. 
  • Assist in job evaluation and classification processes by analyzing job content, preparing job documentation, and supporting grade placement decisions. 
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, workforce metrics, and business intelligence reports to support data-driven HR and compensation decision-making. 
  • Support HRIS reporting and data operations by conducting data validation, creating system reports, troubleshooting user issues, and assisting with system testing. 
  • Maintain compensation systems, datasets, and pay structures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with policies and procedures. 
  • Collect, validate, and analyze HR data from HRIS and related systems to identify trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities for process or program improvement. 
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc HR and compensation reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery to HR leadership and departmental stakeholders. 
  • Conduct audits of HR processes, records, workflows, and data to ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Collaborate with HR Partners, HRIS analysts, and departmental leaders to support compensation operations, HR analytics needs, and cross-functional HR initiatives. 
  • Maintain operational documentation including process maps, standard operating procedures, guidance materials, and data definitions for HR workflows and reporting. 
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive HR and compensation information in accordance with legal, policy, and data security requirements.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a related field; Masters preferred

Experience: 3+ years of compensation experience and 3 years of business analytics, data modeling, dashboard creation or a related HR analytics role; 5+ years preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Tableau, SplashBI and data analysis tools
  • Understanding of compensation principles, salary structures, market pricing and job evaluation
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
