Job description

Job Summary

Goodwill of North Georgia is committed to recognizing and properly accounting for every financial contribution that supports our mission. The Resource Development Operations Manager will oversee the accurate recording of donations in our Customer Relations Management (CRM) system, ensure timely donor acknowledgments, and reconcile contributions with the finance department. Collaborating with the VP of Development, this role will also design and implement Goodwill’s annual donor stewardship plan. Creativity will play a key role as the manager crafts meaningful communications, including letters of thanks, birthday cards, and emails to our valued donors.

This position manages the daily operations of the Resource Development department, focusing on enhancing performance and efficiency in securing financial resources for the organization. A key responsibility is organizing and maintaining the organization’s CRM system, Bloomerang, which is essential to the role.

Essential Functions: (Other duties and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion)

  • Responsible for reviewing donor data and trends to support execution of the annual stewardship plan with the VP of Development and board of directors
  • Create and send engaging ‘thank you’ communications to donors in a timely manner and provide donors with program updates regularly
  • Maintain calendar of reporting deadlines and work with VP of Development to ensure accurate reports are submitted in a timely manner
  • Analyze data to generate reports that assist the VP of Development in setting annual goals and communicating resource development initiatives to the board of directors
  • Collaborate with the VP and other team members to develop necessary policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the department
  • Act as the primary point of contact for orienting and onboarding new employees related to resource development, both within the department and across the organization
  • Collaborate with the Career Services team and Marketing team to create and maintain a shared folder with information such as proposal templates, marketing materials, and prospect research
  • Ensure prompt responses to information requests from the executive team, board of directors, donors, grantors, and staff
  • Collaborate with finance, the board of directors, donors, grantors, staff, and other stakeholders, under the guidance of the VP, to ensure effective stewardship of funds
  • Export and analyze donor data to identify trends and inform fundraising strategies
  • Produce fundraising progress reports for the VP and departmental leadership
  • Produce applicable reports for RD teams, senior leadership team, board committees, and the Board of Directors
  • Create and maintain a donor list for the RD that includes event attendees and various donor prospects
  • Oversee mining/gathering of donor demographic information and giving history within the CRM system
  • Manage RD technology and vendor relationships
  • Conduct and oversee ongoing CRM improvements and periodically evaluate current tools to ensure proper use and maximum efficiency
  • Provide training and support to RD, finance, marketing, and career services teams as needed
  • Work with the VP to evaluate potential new tools & technology to support fundraising activities
  • Work closely with finance to ensure all donations are processed and acknowledged in a timely manner
  • Develop quarterly pledge collection process to improve cash flow, inform write downs, and more closely align processes between RD and finance
  • Collaborate closely with department leadership to develop an annual resource development plan and strategies that align with the organization’s strategic goals
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements and Qualifications: (includes – Education, Training licenses & certificates, Knowledge and Work Experience Requirements)

§  Bachelor’s Degree required.  

§  3-5 years of related experience in Resource Development function.

§  Proven experience working with various tools to support fundraising activities.

§   Proven experience analyzing donor data and fundraising strategies and trends

§  Non-profit CRM experience required.

§  Strong administration skills and Microsoft software systems knowledge
