Job description

Human Resources Generalist - Talent & Employee Experience Leader
Location: Island Oaks RV Resort
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
At Island Oaks RV Resort, we deliver a vibrant, hospitality-first experience where team member engagement drives unforgettable guest experiences.
We are seeking a high-impact Human Resources Generalist who will serve as the on-site HR leader for the property, owning full-cycle recruiting while driving employee relations, engagement, and operational HR excellence.
This role operates at a strategic and leadership level, acting as the primary HR partner to resort leadership and influencing culture, talent strategy, and workforce performance.
This is an ideal opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in fast-paced hospitality environments, enjoys building teams from the ground up, and excels at balancing recruiting with employee experience and compliance.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Strategy (Primary Focus)
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for all resort roles (hospitality, operations, maintenance, F&B, guest services, seasonal staff).
  • Develop creative sourcing strategies across platforms such as Indeed, LinkedIn, hospitality job boards, and local pipelines.
  • Build a strong employer brand aligned with a fun, guest-focused resort culture.
  • Partner with department leaders to forecast hiring needs, define roles, and improve hiring outcomes.
  • Conduct and guide interviews (phone, virtual, in-person) while coaching managers on selection best practices.
  • Manage offer process including compensation recommendations and negotiations.
  • Track and analyze key recruiting KPIs: time-to-fill, quality of hire, retention, and source effectiveness.
  • Lead onboarding programs that ensure rapid integration and engagement of new hires.
Employee Relations & Culture Leadership
  • Serve as the trusted HR advisor and employee advocate for the entire property.
  • Handle employee relations matters including conflict resolution, investigations, coaching, and corrective actions.
  • Drive a positive, inclusive, and high-energy resort culture that supports engagement and retention.
  • Partner with leadership to identify engagement gaps and implement action plans.
  • Support performance management processes including feedback, discipline, and development planning.
  • Promote a culture aligned with hospitality excellence and guest satisfaction.
HR Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, especially within hospitality and seasonal workforce environments.
  • Manage HRIS systems, employee records, reporting, and documentation.
  • Support benefits administration, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain HR policies, employee handbook updates, and consistent application of procedures.
  • Ensure compliance in areas such as wage/hour laws, I-9, EEO, and workplace safety.
Property-Level HR Leadership
  • Act as the lead HR representative on-site, functioning as the strategic partner to resort leadership.
  • Influence staffing models, workforce planning, and labor optimization.
  • Mentor supervisors and managers on people leadership and HR best practices.
  • Drive HR initiatives that support business goals, guest experience, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with corporate HR (if applicable) while maintaining ownership of day-to-day HR execution at the property level.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong emphasis on full-cycle recruiting.
  • Experience in hospitality, resorts, RV parks, property management, or multi-unit environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to influence leaders and operate independently as the sole HR presence on-site.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Experience mentoring leaders or acting in a lead HR capacity strongly preferred.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Why Join Island Oaks RV Resort?
  • Be the HR leader shaping culture and talent at a unique resort destination.
  • Opportunity to own and build recruiting strategy in a growing hospitality environment.
  • Gain exposure to strategic HR leadership responsibilities beyond a traditional Generalist role.
  • Work in a dynamic, high-energy setting where employee experience drives guest experience.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
Position Impact
This role is critical to the success of the resort, ensuring we attract, retain, and develop top talent while maintaining a fun, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture that supports exceptional guest experiences.
