Their duties typically include patrolling the premises, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to emergencies, and enforcing resort policies. They also assist with crowd control during events and provide first aid when necessary. Resort security staff play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a resort security officer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Resort Security Officer, you need a solid understanding of safety protocols, surveillance techniques, and emergency response, often supported by a high school diploma and sometimes security guard certification. Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control technologies, and incident reporting software is typically required. Strong observational skills, professionalism, and effective communication make someone stand out in this role. These abilities are crucial for ensuring guest safety, protecting property, and maintaining a secure and welcoming environment at the resort.

They address these challenges by receiving specialized training in conflict resolution, emergency procedures, and customer service. Teamwork and regular communication with other resort departments, like front desk and housekeeping, are crucial to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.

  • Participate in on-call emergency response as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • One (1) year or more of customer service, hospitality, campground, RV resort, security, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to assess situations, exercise sound judgment, and resolve issues professionally and diplomatically.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications and operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with security, law enforcement, campground operations, RV parks, or hospitality environments is a plus.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
