Job description


Position Summary
The Senior Catering Manager is responsible for planning and executing all aspects of group room blocks, meetings, and catering events from contract turnover through event completion. Your role is to serve as the liaison between clients and hotel departments, ensuring exceptional service, flawless execution, and an outstanding guest experience that reflects the hotel's luxury standards.
Remote Work Opportunity: Employees may be eligible to occasionally work remotely, after completing an initial onboarding period; subject to satisfactory job performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • After the sales contract is executed, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, through event completion and billing closure.
  • Coordinate all aspects of meetings, social events (galas, fundraisers, etc.), and room blocks.
  • Conduct pre-convention, planning, and post-event meetings with clients and hotel leadership.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed banquet event orders (BEOs), group grids/resumes, and diagrams for Client and Hotel
  • Collaborate with Sales, Banquets, Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, Audio Visual, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Respond promptly to client requests and proactively resolve issues before and during events.
  • Ensure meeting spaces are set according to BEOs and Diagrams and Hotel Standards.
  • Coordinate guestroom blocks, VIP arrivals, amenities, transportation, and special requests for group clients.
  • Manage event changes, rooming lists, billing instructions, and function space adjustments as needed.
  • Review event billing for accuracy and assist with final account reconciliation.
  • Maximize client satisfaction while identifying opportunities to increase revenue through upselling of hotel services and amenities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with repeat clients and event planners to encourage future business.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety standards, and service procedures.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings and department briefings

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of conference services, catering, event management, or luxury hospitality experience.
  • Experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or full-service convention property preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of banquet operations, food and beverage service, and event logistics.
  • Proficiency with hotel property management systems (Amadeus Delphi/Meetings & Events, Social Tables, Opera, or similar platforms).
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to build lasting client relationships through professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
