Reports To: Kitchen Manager / Resort Manager

Job Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality, home-style meals for resort guests in a fast-paced, friendly fishing resort environment. This role supports daily kitchen operations by following recipes, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a positive dining experience for guests enjoying their time on the lake.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner items according to menu and resort standards
     
  • Cook food to proper temperatures and ensure quality presentation
     
  • Assist with menu prep, portioning, and plating
     
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workspace
     
  • Follow all Minnesota food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
     
  • Monitor food inventory and notify management of supply needs
     
  • Properly store food and label items according to guidelines
     
  • Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as needed
     
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen and resort staff
     
  • Accommodate basic dietary needs and guest requests when possible
     
Qualifications
  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred (line cook, prep cook, short-order cook, or similar)
     
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food handling procedures
     
  • Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines consistently
     
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to work efficiently during peak meal times
     
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
     
  • ServSafe or food safety certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
