Utility Operator (Day Shift: 7:00 PM โ€“ 5:30 AM)

Capital Resin Corporation is a 24/7 production environment dedicated to quality and customer responsiveness. We have one common goal: โ€œTo be the best at what we do.โ€ Chemical operators, supervisors, chemists, engineers, and salespersons are just to name a few positions within our organization.

We have an immediate opening for a โ€œUtility Operatorโ€ on day shift. This position is generally Monday โ€“ Thursday (7:00 PM - 5:30 AM) with occasional weekend work as needed.

Summary:

The Utility Operator is responsible for safely producing chemical products that meet quality specifications in a time efficient manner. Responsibilities include the following:

1. Safety & Environment

Maintains a safe work environment.

  • Observes plant safety rules. Follows safe operating procedures and policies and uses safe behaviors. Always wears the proper PPE needed to perform all tasks safely.

2. Quality

Follows all quality policies and production procedures to ensure quality product is produced.

  • Follows all provisions of operating instructions.
  • Responsible for the completion and accuracy of all batch ticket data entry.
  • Monitors quality of output and takes appropriate action, including shutdown of process, to prevent or limit production of out of spec material.

3. Production

Responsible for making production batches, loading/unloading bulk tankers, transfer/packaging/re-packing into containers as assigned.

  • Assists in meeting the production schedule goals by completing assignments. Stages raw materials and puts away finished product.
  • Responsible for raw material and finished goods location integrity. Monitors batch while in process, and while making adjustments as required.
  • Properly communicates to supervisor when it appears that a goal or deadline will not be met.
  • Strives for continuous improvement by interacting during daily huddles and filling out visual production boards.

4. Efficiency

Responsible for meeting standard batch ticket cycle times while maintaining safety and quality

  • Follows instructions to meet or exceed standard cycle times.

5. Housekeeping

Responsible for maintaining 5S standards established throughout the production area.

  • Maintains assigned areas in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Cooperates with peers in housekeeping endeavors.

Qualifications/Requirements/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Read and understand written instructions in English
  • Accurately record all work on batch tickets
  • Use computer-controlled devices to operate and monitor processes
  • Performs basic laboratory tests using proper equipment and methods; interpret results
  • Forklift operator certification or capable of being trained
  • Technical manufacturing experience in a chemical facility is a bonus
  • Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, kneeling, crawling and grasping. Standing for extended periods of time, walking up to one (1) mile per day, and data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, and full-face respirators)
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 55 lbs. frequently (unassisted)
  • Be able to lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and similar equipment as a normal part of the job.
  • Ability to climb several flights of stairs
  • Exposure to environmental conditions (frequently walking in and outdoors) with exposure to extreme cold and warm temperatures from -20 degrees to +100 degrees
  • Ability to work any shift
