WorkSolved Staffing is recruiting a Structural Engineer / Structural Designer for a direct-hire opportunity with an established engineering consulting firm. This position will support primarily commercial building projects and work closely with experienced engineers to develop accurate structural designs, construction documents, 2D drawings, and 3D building models.
The ideal candidate will have structural engineering and drafting experience, strong Revit skills, and an understanding of commercial building foundations, framing systems, and lateral systems. Candidates with professional engineering credentials and the ability to complete their own drafting are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design structural systems for primarily commercial building projects.
  • Develop foundation, framing, and lateral system designs.
  • Create and maintain accurate 3D structural models using Revit.
  • Produce detailed 2D construction drawings and structural documents.
  • Perform structural calculations and assist with engineering analysis.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Review drawings and models for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage assigned projects and provide accurate, timely project deliverables.
  • Support residential projects as needed.
  • Assist with project coordination from initial design through construction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) designation preferred where applicable.
  • EIT certification may be considered for candidates with relevant experience.
  • Experience designing commercial building structures.
  • Production-level experience with Revit Structure is strongly preferred.
  • Experience independently producing structural drawings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of typical construction practices, building materials, and structural systems.
  • Experience with structural design software such as RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, StruCalc, or similar programs is a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and project-management skills.
