Licensed Residential Home Inspector

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports To: Pillar To Post Franchise Business Owner


Position Summary:

We are seeking a North Carolina Licensed Residential Home Inspector in good standing to join our team in providing high-quality, professional home inspection services throughout North Carolina. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to integrity and customer service.

By joining the Pillar To Post team, you will play a key role in ensuring home buyers and sellers have the information they need to make informed decisions while delivering inspections that meet our high-quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive residential property inspections in accordance with the North Carolina Home Inspector Licensure Board (NCHILB) standards of practice and code of ethics.
  • Evaluate structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, exterior, interior, and safety systems.
  • Identify and document property defects, maintenance issues, and safety concerns.
  • Prepare detailed, timely, and clearly written inspection reports using approved software tools.
  • Communicate findings effectively to clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections performed.
  • Stay current on industry standards, Pillar To Post requirements, and North Carolina continuing education requirements.
  • Responsible for all Pillar To Post specialized equipment, including placement and pickup coordination.
  • Participate in marketing events such as Lunch and Learn events, trade shows, and office visit marketing programs.
  • Represent Pillar To Post professionally, always upholding its reputation for quality and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Active North Carolina Home Inspector License required.
  • Minimum 1โ€“2 years of residential inspection experience preferred (will consider newly licensed inspectors with strong technical or construction backgrounds).
  • Working knowledge of residential construction, systems, and safety standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with inspection software and digital reporting tools.
  • Valid NC driverโ€™s license.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access crawlspaces, and perform inspections in various environmental conditions.
