A residential electrician diagnoses and repairs electrical problems by installing wiring and electrical components, exclusively for residential properties. This means that residential electricians visit customer homes to determine the root of their electrical problems, and then come up with a solution to the problem, which may include electrical wiring installation or replacement. Because they work in customer homes, residential electricians must effectively communicate with customers and be respectful of their private spaces while completing electrical work.

What does a residential electrician do?

Residential electricians may also advise homeowners on energy-saving electrical solutions and safety improvements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a residential electrician?
