Job description

Sacred Oak Homes

Residential Construction Superintendent

Company Overview

Sacred Oak Homes has been building and remodeling homes and businesses throughout Western Massachusetts and beyond since 1990. We combine deep-rooted relationships with local artisans and craftspeople with a thoughtful, collaborative process centered on quality, communication, efficiency, and integrity.

We believe exceptional projects are built through teamwork, respect, and craftsmanship. Join a company where your experience is valued, your leadership matters, and your work creates lasting impact.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Residential Construction Superintendent to lead projects across Berkshire County. In this role, you will be the primary point person on the jobsite, directing the work of crew members and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to a high standard of craftsmanship.

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned carpenter who enjoys being in the field, leading people, solving problems in real time, and building beautiful custom residential and light commercial spaces that clients love.

What You'll Do
  • Lead day-to-day jobsite operations, including crew supervision, subcontractor coordination, and sequencing of work to keep projects on track.
  • Perform hands-on carpentry as needed while ensuring high standards of craftsmanship, site cleanliness, and safety across all trades.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers on planning, scheduling, budgeting, and material coordination to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Serve as the main jobsite contact for clients, architects, designers, and inspectors, running regular on-site meetings and communicating progress, issues, and changes clearly.
  • Monitor schedules, costs, and documentation, including timesheets, job cost codes, receipts, and change orders, to support on-time and on-budget project completion.
What Success Looks Like
  • Within your first 612 months, you are independently running one or more projects in Berkshire County from start through punch list, with jobs consistently finishing on time and within budget.
  • Crews and subcontractors are organized, productive, and clear on priorities each day, resulting in minimal rework, limited overtime, and strong jobsite morale.
  • Clients, architects, and inspectors see you as responsive, professional, and solutions-oriented, with positive feedback on communication and overall experience.
  • Jobsite safety, cleanliness, documentation, and inspections are consistently handled to company and regulatory standards, with no major safety incidents.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong carpentry background with residential construction experience and the ability to interpret and execute construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proven experience leading field crews and coordinating subcontractors, with a calm, organized, and respectful leadership style.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfort with using company-provided technology and project management tools, along with a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a professional approach with clients and project partners.
Compensation and Benefits
  • 401(k) with up to 4% company match after 1 year and 1,000 hours of service
  • (7) Paid holidays
  • Paid Time Off after 1 year
  • Tool allowance of $750 per year available after 6 months
