Job description

Assistant Director of Residential Services - $3,000 Retention Bonus*
Lead innovative, ABA-informed residential programs in Dutchess, Orange or Ulster Counties
Are you energized by a fast-paced, dynamic, and creative work environment? Do you want to make a meaningful impact and enrich lives every day?
Join Greystone Programs, where we believe every person deserves to live the life they choose.
We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader in the disabilities services field to oversee and provide leadership to four community residences and their management teams. This role is ideal for a leader with a strong background in OPWDD residential operations who wants to shape how services are delivered - not just maintain them.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead with purpose: Guide and empower residential managers to deliver high-quality, person-centered care grounded in ABA principles and Greystone's core values: Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Honesty, and Diversity.
  • Champion innovation: Bring fresh thinking to service delivery - identifying new approaches to behavior support, program design, and quality of life outcomes rather than defaulting to "how it's always been done."
  • Develop future leaders: Mentor and grow residential managers into strong, confident leaders through coaching, real-time feedback, and structured professional development.
  • Drive program excellence: Monitor program budgets, ensure proper staffing coverage within labor budgets, and oversee operations that adapt to the evolving needs of the people we support.
  • Stay adaptable: Work a Monday-Friday schedule with flexibility as needed, including providing on-call support.

Why Greystone?
At Greystone Programs, innovation isn't a buzzword - it's how we approach care. We invest in leaders who want to grow, experiment with better approaches to residential and behavioral support, and build stronger teams. You'll find a collaborative culture that prioritizes both professional development and making a real difference in the lives of others.
Benefits include:
  • Medical, Dental and Vision plans
  • Free life insurance
  • Free long term disability insurance
  • Supplemental coverage for unexpected medical situations
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match
  • Tuition Assistance
  • Annual Performance Reviews with salary increases
  • Paid time off - Holidays, Sick and Personal days and Vacation time
  • Free Financial Planning Assistance
  • Employee Referral Bonuses
  • Employee recognition programs and service awards
  • NYS Drivers Safety Course - offered free to employees
  • Discounts on personal auto and homeowner's insurance
  • Weekly payroll

*Retention Bonus paid after 6 months of successful employment.
.What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in a health or human services related field is highly preferred.
  • Proven supervisory experience in the I/DD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) field, with demonstrated ability to lead teams independently.
  • Strong problem-solving, goal orientation, and delegation abilities to ensure team and organizational success.
  • Experience with ABA-based behavioral support strategies in a residential or clinical setting.
  • A track record of developing staff into leadership roles.
  • Strong budget and staffing management skills.
