Resident Program Coordinators are professionals who manage and oversee programs within residential facilities, such as student dormitories, assisted living communities, or transitional housing. They are responsible for organizing activities, supporting residents, and ensuring that programs meet the needs of the community. Their duties often include planning events, resolving conflicts, coordinating with other staff, and maintaining a safe and positive living environment. These coordinators play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and supporting the well-being of residents.

How does a resident program coordinator typically collaborate with other staff to enhance resident engagement?

Resident Program Coordinators work closely with activity directors, healthcare staff, and facility management to design and implement programs that cater to residents’ needs and interests. They frequently communicate with nursing teams to ensure activities are accessible for all residents and coordinate with volunteers or external vendors for special events. Regular team meetings and feedback sessions help them tailor offerings and resolve challenges, fostering a collaborative environment focused on enriching resident experiences.

To thrive as a Resident Program Coordinator, you need strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and experience in program management, often supported by a degree in education, healthcare administration, or a related field. Familiarity with graduate medical education (GME) accreditation systems, scheduling software, and compliance documentation is typically required. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills help coordinate between residents, faculty, and institutional leadership. These skills are vital to ensure smooth program operations, regulatory compliance, and a supportive environment for resident education and development.

We practice these principles with every task and interaction, from personal caregiver assistance to mowing the grass. At Touchmark, we say:
I AM AN ALLY • I AM A FRIEND • I AM A GIVER
Touchmark in the West Hills is a full-service senior living community dedicated to enriching the lives of residents through exceptional care, hospitality, and service. We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and solutions-focused Resident Care Coordinator/Scheduler to support the daily operations of our Health Services department.
This is an important role for someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating schedules, supporting team members, and helping ensure residents have the right care and support in place each day.
Why You'll Love This Role
  • Enjoy a four-day workweek with three scheduled days off
  • Play an important role in supporting both resident care and team member success
  • Work closely with nursing and community leadership
  • Use your organization, communication, and problem-solving skills every day
  • Be part of a collaborative team focused on providing exceptional care

What You'll Do
  • Create, post, and maintain caregiver and medication technician schedules using Dayforce
  • Proactively review upcoming schedules, identify open shifts, and work to secure coverage
  • Coordinate staffing needs while minimizing overtime and maintaining appropriate coverage
  • Track call-outs, attendance, schedule changes, and employee follow-up
  • Maintain certification and training records for Health Services team members
  • Coordinate and participate in caregiver and medication technician interviews
  • Assist with onboarding and training new Health Services team members
  • Maintain department records, filing systems, employee timelines, and other administrative documentation
  • Assist with payroll corrections and other staffing-related administrative needs
  • Provide clear pass-down communication between schedulers to ensure continuity
  • Support the Health Services Director and nursing leadership with operational and administrative needs
  • Assist with coverage when needed and be trained as a Caregiver and Med Tech.

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of clerical or administrative experience
  • Two years of scheduling, staffing coordination, senior living, healthcare, or direct-care experience preferred
  • Caregiver and/or medication technician experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly to unexpected staffing challenges
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and follow through on responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Professional communication skills and commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to build positive relationships with team members while maintaining accountability and consistency
  • Genuine interest in working with older adults and supporting exceptional resident care
  • Flexibility to participate in the on-call staffing rotation associated with scheduled workdays

What Sets You Apart
  • Experience with senior living or healthcare staffing
  • Experience with Dayforce or another workforce management system
  • Previous caregiver or medication technician experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think ahead
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership
  • A proactive approach to staffing and scheduling rather than waiting for problems to arise

This is more than a scheduling position. The work you do directly supports resident care by making sure the right team members are in the right place at the right time.
Benefits:
Touchmark is dedicated to providing the best for our residents, and it all begins with providing the best for our employees. That's why we offer a competitive compensation and benefits package to our team members who work 30+ hours per week which includes:
