Job description

For the last 15 years, the Center for Gut Rehabilitation and Transplant at Cleveland Clinic has defined the field of intestinal failure management. Our center offers the worlds largest gut rehabilitative surgery service as well as an established intestinal transplant program.

We are now pleased to announce a one-year junior faculty educational experience beginning in August 2025. This position is dedicated to non-transplant gut rehabilitative surgery, with optional exposure to intestinal transplant procedures.

Program Highlights

  • More than 200 patients evaluated annually for gut rehabilitation surgery
  • Approximately 150 gut rehabilitative operations per year, including:
    • Complex autologous gut reconstruction
    • Innovative gut malrotation correction surgery
    • Bowel lengthening procedures
  • Predominantly adult cases, with about 10% pediatric patients
  • Separate Intestinal Transplant Fellowship (allowing this fellowship to focus on non-transplant rehabilitation)

Requirements

Candidates must have passed the USMLE examinations, have their ECFMG certification, completed a General Surgery Residency Program, be BC/BE in General Surgery, be able to obtain an Ohio permanent medical license and meet hospital credentialing requirements.  Were unable to sponsor J1 visas.
