Job description

Join the team at Moxy Hotel & Residence Inn Portland Thompson's Point, a brand-new dual-branded Marriott hotel bringing fresh energy, style, and hospitality to one of Portland's most exciting waterfront destinations, newly opened in July 2026. As home to the first Moxy hotel in Northern New England, this is a chance to be part of something new from the very beginning - welcoming guests to a vibrant stay steps from Thompson's Point's concerts, events, dining, and culture.
We've recently opened our doors-and we're looking for a Houseperson who takes pride in the details and loves being part of a team that makes everything shine.
In this role, you're the behind-the-scenes hero who keeps the hotel looking fresh, stocked, and guest-ready at all times. From spotless public spaces to helping teammates stay set up for success, you make sure every corner of the hotel feels welcoming from the moment guests arrive.
If you like staying busy, working with a team, and seeing the results of your work every single day, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Keeping all public areas clean, polished, and guest-ready
  • Stocking and delivering supplies so the housekeeping team can keep things running smoothly
  • Jumping into action to support guest requests and team needs
  • Deep cleaning carpets, windows, fixtures, and more to keep everything looking brand new
  • Making sure back-of-house areas are just as clean and organized as guest spaces
  • Removing trash, linens, and keeping everything fresh and tidy
  • Helping with laundry-washing, drying, and folding linens
  • Assisting with room setups, furniture moves, and event spaces
  • Occasionally helping clean guest rooms when needed
  • Noticing the little things and reporting anything that needs fixing

You'll Fit Right In If You:
  • Have previous cleaning or housekeeping experience
  • Take pride in a job well done and notice the small details others might miss
  • Like to stay active-this is not a sit-down job
  • Enjoy helping others and being part of a team
  • Can work independently and keep yourself on track
  • Are friendly, approachable, and happy to help guests when needed
  • Work efficiently without cutting corners
  • Are flexible and ready for a 7-day operation (evenings, weekends, holidays)

Why You'll Love Being Part of This Team:
  • You'll be part of a brand-new hotel opening-helping set the standard from day one
  • Your work is seen and appreciated by guests and teammates alike
  • Every day is different-there's always something to do
  • You'll be part of a supportive, team-first environment that keeps things positive and fun

Perks & Benefits (we take care of our people):
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Company-funded HRA & Flexible Spending Accounts
  • 401(k) with employer match (Traditional & Roth)
  • Paid Time Off
  • Hotel discounts for you and your family
  • Discounts on travel, entertainment, and retail
  • Training, development, and growth opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Program

Ready to help us shine from day one?
Join the crew and be part of creating a hotel guests love coming back to.
