What role you will play in our team

The candidate will apply advanced reservoir engineering techniques to forecast performance, guide depletion planning, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable production from our oil sands portfolio.

What you will do
  • Develop and maintain depletion plans for in situ thermal and solvent recovery processes (eg. SAGD), integrating reservoir performance and facility constraints
  • Collaborate with geoscience and reservoir teams to evaluate reservoir behavior, identify enhancement opportunities, and refine development strategies.
  • Conduct reservoir simulation and material balance analysis to forecast production, steam-oil ratios, solvent-oil ratios, and recovery factors
  • Lead or support the design and implementation of well workovers, stimulations, and infill drilling
  • Contribute to future development projects, including well pad design, facility expansions, and debottlenecking, ensuring alignment with depletion strategy
  • Support pilot testing and deployment of emerging technologies (e.g. solvent-assisted processes, enhanced recovery methods, digital tools).
About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required - preferably Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical
  • 5+ years of experience in reservoir engineering for heavy oil or oil sands assets
  • Deep understanding of thermal recovery processes and well performance analysis
  • Skilled in thermal reservoir simulation tools (e.g. CMG STARS, Petrel RE/IX, and/or equivalents) for reservoir performance forecasting and scenario analysis
  • Experience with depletion planning, reservoir surveillance, and recovery optimization

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
