Research Toxicologist Jobs (NOW HIRING)

We are seeking a Toxicologist to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. • Apply the principles of toxicology, risk assessment, clinical toxicology, occupational toxicology, and risk communication to assess the public health implications resulting from human exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Assess the metabolic pathway interactions of metals, solvents and vapors, radiation and radioactive materials, pesticides, and other organic contaminants.
• Support the analysis of toxicological/environmental data associated with hazardous waste sites.
• Evaluate toxicological/environmental data for quality assurance/quality control, completeness, and relevance.
• Provide expertise to assess site‑specific public health impacts of identified hazardous substances and to develop appropriate responses for health consultations requested by Federal, state and local agencies, and the public.
• Provide technical assistance and appropriate recommendations regarding potential human health impacts resulting from exposure or potential exposure to hazardous substances.
• Assist with the development of public and petition health assessments.
• Attend technical assistance site visits and public meetings.

• Bachelor's degree in toxicology, environmental health, public health, health sciences, or a related scientific field.
• Experience working in public health, health sciences research, and/or program evaluation and performance measurement.
• Desired experience working with CDC, federal agencies, or related public health entities.
• Knowledge of toxicology, risk assessment, clinical toxicology, occupational toxicology, and risk communication principles.
• Experience analyzing and evaluating toxicological and environmental data, including data associated with hazardous waste sites.
• Ability to assess potential human health impacts resulting from exposure to hazardous substances and provide appropriate technical recommendations.

• Occasionally come in contact with chemicals, such as aerosols, biological inhalants, plastics, inorganic dust and powders, etc.
