This Graduate Assistant Research position will assist faculty with current or prospective research projects. Skills and areas of development that will be achieved through the role of this position include: specific field knowledge, ability to work under limited supervision, results oriented, leadership, teamwork, time management, strong communication, customer service.

Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support for the development or completion of scholarly activities/research projects within the Lyon Center for Gamebird Research as assigned.
  • Assist with the research methodology/modeling/design of experiments and collection of data.
  • Assist with literature review, data entry, and data compilation as required.
  • Assist with submission of abstracts/proposals for regional or national conference presentations as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations at regional or national conferences as needed.
  • Attend research presentations as required.
  • Assist the Director or staff with the development of manuscripts suitable for submission to research journals.
  • Assist the Director or staff with the electronic or mail submission of research articles.
  • Assist with research grant proposal development and proposal.
  • Assist with any other activities (including departmental activities) within the scope of the research project.
  • Attend classes/lectures given by the instructor whom they are assisting.
  • Assist with any activities (including departmental activities) related to teaching
  • Assist with College activities as requested by the Director or staff members.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:Must be an active student at the graduate level.

Knowledge / Skills:Detail-oriented, organized, punctual, and responsible.Good computer skills (list programs you have used, for example, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAS, SPSS, STATA, MATHLAB, Minitab, R, etc.).

Ability to:Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to handle confidential matters and to be professional.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:Prior research experience.
